Underage DUI Suspect And Wanted Person On Same Traffic Stop; Arrest x2 – GARLAND COUNTY


All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

Garland County Sheriff’s Training Sergeant Schroeder was out working DWI Overtime this holiday weekend when he came across a black Dodge Charger at Piney Junction.  He conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at the EZ Mart on the corner of Highway 270 West at Mountain Pine Road.

GCSO K-9 Patrol Deputy Strickland and Sandy assisted during the stop.

Matthew La-Rom Samuels, 18, of Hot Springs – arrested by the GCSO DWI Patrol on a holiday weekend.

The driver, Matthew La-Rom Samuels, 18, of Hot Springs (he advised the Sergeant that he was 17 years old, but Sgt. Schroeder is a little quicker than that and figured it out), of Hot Springs, was arrested and charged with Underage DUI with a $1,000 bond.

Zachary Eric Hilton, 19, of parts unknown – picked up on an outstanding warrant during the holiday weekend.

Zachary Eric Hilton, 19, of parts unknown, a passenger in the vehicle, was picked up on a Failure To Comply arrest warrant.  His bond was set at $2,500.

Both were transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.
