The driver of the truck said that he took the back exit at McDonald’s.  He said that as he got beside the building that houses Greg’s Rise & Dine Cafe, he saw smoke coming from under the hood.  He jumped out to see about it and a fire broke out and consumed the engine compartment.  The fire spread to the outside of the vehicle and took out the windshield of the Dodge Ram truck before firefighters arrived and put the fire out.

70 West Fire Troops arrived very quickly and put the fire out immediately.

No injuries were reported.

Holcomb’e Transport & Recovery took charge of the vehicle and removed it from the scene.
