Mr. Morgan had attempted to leave the area but Ofc. Scrimshire found him in the 4700 Block of Central Avenue. Ofc. Scrimshire asked Mr. Morgan where the side by side came from and he allegedly stated “someone at a trailer park gave it to me and I don’t want it because it will not get out of first (gear)”.  At that time Mr. Morgan was detained and transported back to 4600 Central Avenue.

Officer Scrimshire ran the VIN of the side by side and Hot Springs Police Dispatchers informed Ofc. Scrimshire that the vehicle returned to a trailer park on Central Avenue.  A Yeti 45 (ice chest) was on the back of the side by side and the title for the vehicle was located in the glove box. Spray painted on top of the Yeti was the same name listed as the owner of the side by side.

The victim was contacted via telephone. The victim stated that he is currently out of town and the side by side was supposed to be parked under a shed at his residence. The victim additionally stated that no one had permission to drive it. The side by side is valued at approximately $20,000.00.

Mr. Morgan was placed under arrest and was transported to the Garland County Detention Center.

He is charged with Theft by Receiving.

His bond is set at $3,500.00.
