All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Garland County Sheriff’s K-9 Patrol Unit Deputy Strickland & “Sandy” were on patrol in the area of Amity Road at Harp’s Grocery Store when they came across a car that caught their interest.  As they maneuvered their vehicle in preparation of a possible traffic stop, the vehicle fled.

The parade route took them from the Harp’s P-lot down Amity Road.  They eventually got on South Moore Road, turned onto Marion Anderson Road and proceeded to the 300 Block of Warpath Road where the vehicle was suddenly skidded to a stop.  3 people allegedly jumped from the vehicle.  2 of the runners hit the woods and disappeared.  The 3rd runner, Cody Von Almond, 29, of Garland County, allegedly leaped from the car and went to floppin’ and twitchin’ as though he was on a dope trip.  He was arrested and secured in the back of a patrol vehicle.

Cody Von Almond, 29, of Garland County – allegedly too intoxicated to flee on foot properly and subsequently arrested after making the attempt.

Other Patrol Deputies and Arkansas State Troopers saturated and searched the area.  Dep. Strickland & Sandy started a track on the 2 fleeing suspects.  But, soon lost the track.  It is believed that they may have ducked into a house that they are familiar to in the immediate area.

Mr. Almond is charged with Public Intoxication and has since been released from jail.
