All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Corporal Cogburn was working DWI Enforcement on the Bypass this morning around 3AM when he saw a vehicle that was allegedly speeding. He turned on the blue lights in an attempt to pull the vehicle over.
The vehicle allegedly did not pullover, but rather, sped off and exited the Bypass onto Airport Road Eastbound. The vehicle allegedly continued to flee up Airport Road and onto West St. Louis Street. The suspect vehicle went through the neighborhood until it got to Summer Street when it lost control trying to turn onto Alpine Street.
The white Lexus sedan exited the right side of the pavement, fell into a deep ditch and stopped with one of the front wheels off the ground.
The vehicle’s pertinents were checked through the police computer. The check revealed that the Lexus had been stolen in Hot Springs back in November 2020. Hot Springs Police reported to the scene to handle that end of the investigation.
At least 1 person was arrested at the scene. That person was transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. Charges are unknown to me.
