All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
Early Monday morning (back in September 2017) a little after midnight, Hot Springs Police Officer Rodgers responded to the area of Family Dollar on Park Avenue on a report of a man passed out.
Officer Rodgers located the suspect, later identified as Jeremy Milikin, slumped over on the steps in the 100 Block of Pullman Street, he was allegedly very disoriented.
When officer Rodgers made contact with the suspect he allegedly observed his right hand inside his jacket near his waste band.
Officer Rodgers instructed Mr. Milikin to remove his hand from his jacket and the officer allegedly observed what appeared to be the grip of a hand gun.
The suspect complied with the officer’s instructions and was immediately detained and a .22 caliber hand gun was allegedly recovered.
The officer then conducted further search of the suspect and allegedly found a glass pipe commonly used by people to smoke drugs.
Officer Rodgers then searched a back pack that was the suspect’s and allegedly found a metal measuring spoon and a handheld torch.
Officer Rodgers had dispatch check Mr. Milikin through the ACIC computer and was advised that he had a prior felony conviction out of Saline County.
The Milikin subject was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession Of A Firearm By Certain Persons.
