Evidence at the scene suggested that the Eastbound hatchback car intended to turn left into a driveway.  The hatchback stopped in the fast lane and was waiting for Westbound traffic to clear (no turn lane at this location).  The Eastbound motorcycle struck the rear of the stopped hatchback.  The rider was thrown from the motorcycle.  Both vehicles came to final rest near the area of impact.

Morning Star Fire & Rescue arrived quickly.  They took charge of traffic control, assisted with medical care, assisted with highway clean-up and otherwise assisted as needed.  This is the 2nd run, 1st trauma run, for Rescue 7, their nearly new and very recently acquired 2015 Ford F550 4×4 Rescue Pumper.

LifeNet dispatched an Ambulance Crew and the EMS Supervisor to the scene.  The rider of the motorcycle was injured and transported by ambulance to the hospital.  The driver of the car did not appear injured.

Eastbound traffic was rerouted through the shoe factory parking lot. Traffic flow was interrupted for approximately 45 minutes.
