Evidence at the scene showed that a party barge and what’s been described as a bass boat collided around 10pm last night.  Witnesses at the scene stated that the bass boat was in the middle of the cove and already sinking – with the navigation lights off or malfunctioning.  However, a “friend of the person on the bass boat” made a statement on Facebook refuting those accounts of what happened.  According to her, the bass boat was floating fine, all navigation lights were on and the party barge ran slap over the bass boat.  It is unknown to me how she knows this information….I did not talk to her at the scene.

Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Units assisted as needed.

Lake Hamilton Fire & Rescue Troops as well as the LHFD Boat Crew responded quickly to the scene and assisted with patient care and otherwise as required.

LifeNet dispatched at least 1 Ambulance Crew to the scene.  At least 1 person was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
