Hot Springs Fire & Rescue Troops responded to the call for a structure on Mountain View Street just North of Avery Street right before midnight Monday.
At least 4 engines, 2 rescue trucks and the shift commander arrived quickly. Smoke was rolling out from the eaves of the house when I arrived. A ladder was put up to an upper level access point where a firefighter went up there with what looked to be a heat finder monitor type of handheld device.
Firefighters laid out, hooked up and charged a hydrant line, but I never saw water used from my location.
It is unknown to me whether the house was being lived in or was occupied at the time of the fire. I did not hear any mention of injuries in connection to this fire.
This block of Mountain View Street was closed for at least 2 hours during this operation.
