Garland County Environmental Officer Calcagno was driving home at the end of the workday when he noticed black smoke coming from behind a residence on Highway 70 West near the South Moore Intersection.
He made contact with the people inside the residence at that location, but they were allegedly not in the mood to hear it. 70 West Fire Department and Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy Delahunt were ordered to the scene to extinguish the fire and assist with the investigation.
It was determined that the fire in the back yard allegedly contained items that are illegal to burn, including a tire. A person at the house was issued a citation for illegal burning and the fire was extinguished.
