Hot Springs Police Corporal Franklin supervised the investigation of a car vs. utility pole crash on Whittington Avenue earlier this week.

Evidence at the scene indicated that the Chevrolet sedan collided head-on with the utility pole near the Ozark Street Intersection.  The impact snapped the pole at the base and left the pole dangling over the roadway.  The HSPD Traffic Van was called out to install barricades for a detour route.

Hot Springs Fire & Rescue arrived quickly and assisted as necessary.

LifeNet dispatched a Medic Unit to the scene.  It is unknown to me whether anyone was actually injured or not.

Traffic flow was interrupted for at least 3 hours.
