Allegedly: Yelling At Passing Cars On Albert Pike Road; Felony Arrest – HOT SPRINGS

All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Hot Springs Police Officer Murray reports that he and back up officer(s) were dispatched to the 1600 Block of Albert Pike Road April 25, 2020 around 8:30PM in reference to a woman yelling obscenities and screaming at traffic.  HSPD 911 Dispatchers took several calls reporting this.

Off. Murray arrived quickly and recognized Gertie Mae Shipman, 52, homeless in Hot Springs.  She walked into the roadway and was almost struck by a car in traffic.  Contact was made with Ms. Shipman, she was arrested and searched.  Found in her pocket, was a glass, drug smoking pipe with white, brown and black residue.  She said that she recognized the item as a “meth pipe”.

Ms. Shipman was transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.  She is charged with Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia and Disorderly Conduct with a bond of $3,000.
