Alleged: Wanted Parolee Catches Meth Charge; Felony Arrest – GARLAND COUNTY

All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy DeLaHunt reports that he was dispatched to an address on Plemmons Terrace June 19, 2021, around 8AM, for the call of a disorderly person that was hindering the progress of a wrecker driver.

Dep. DeLaHunt arrived and made contact with the wrecker driver complainant.  The complainant said that the man was cursing at him and kept trying to unhook a vehicle that was getting towed.

A female was also on the property as this investigation was being conducted.  The female was identified as Tara Lawon Knaper, 39, of Holiday Trail in Royal.  Deputies checked her pertinents through the police computer.  The check revealed that she was also on parole and had an outstanding arrest warrant charging Failure To Appear out of Garland County.

Parolee Tara Lawon Knaper, 39, of Holiday Trail in Royal – Allegedly hanging out with a fellow parolee while they both are carrying meth and arrest warrants for missing court…..while on parole.

Ms. Knaper was arrested.  She promptly told Dep. DeLaHunt “you might want to check my pockets”.  During the search, Dep. DeLaHunt located a baggie containing suspected meth (3 grams).

Ms. Knaper was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.  She is charged with Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance with bond set at $3,500 and the arrest warrant was served.
