All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police Detective Branstetter reports that officers with his department conducted a traffic stop October 7, 2021, around 6PM, on Laser Street.
Officers made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and determined that Gary Wayne Bragg, 50, homeless in Hot Springs. Mr. Bragg was known to have felony warrants out for his arrest. Mr. Bragg refused to get out of the vehicle. Mr. Bragg suddenly slid over into the driver’s position, forcing the driver out of the vehicle, and attempted to drive off from the traffic stop.
Det. Branstetter zapped Mr. Bragg with his department issued tazer causing Mr. Bragg to lose control of what he was doing. One of the tazer leads broke and Mr. Bragg resumed his attempt to drive off. A K-9 officer went into the vehicle and Mr. Bragg was arrested.
During the search of Mr. Bragg’s person, officers located 9 Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone Bitartrate pills.
Mr. Bragg was transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance and was served 2 arrest warrants charging Felony Battery and Felony Failure To Register/Report As A Sex Offender and Felony Failure To Appear Warrant x4 with bond set at $15,000 and a hold placed on him for the FTA warrants.
