Hot Springs Police Officer Greene reports that he was on patrol in the area of Vine Street on East Grand Avenue August 4, 2021, around 3AM, when he spotted a black, Ford Expedition pull into the Dodge Store Parking Lot. Off. Greene checked the license plate through the police computer and found that the plate had been reported stolen out of Hot Springs.
The driver started the vehicle and attempted to drive off as the traffic stop was being initiated. Off. Greene got out and made contact with the driver, Brian Doyle Harvey, 39, of Chancellor Lane in Hot Springs. He arrested Mr. Harvey right away and searched him and the Ford.
During the search, officers located approximately 2.7 grams of meth in a baggie on the passenger floorboard and a used hypodermic needle in the center console. Mr. Harvey was read his Miranda Rights. He told police that the meth belonged to him.
A passenger that had been in the vehicle returned to the vehicle, was detained for investigation and subsequently released.
Mr. Harvey was transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with Felony Possession Of Meth and Theft By Receiving with bond set at $3,500.
