All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police Detectives report that a female victim came to the police department on September 23, 2021, around 4AM, to report that she had just experienced a kidnapping and violent assaults with firearms.
The victim told detectives that she was visiting at a friend’s house on Arbor Street. A person she knows as Andrea Marie Burciaga, 39, of Denham Road in Malvern, was also at the house. The victim said that the 2 are friends, but that Andrea was mad at her because she thinks that the victim has ashes that belong to her.
The 2 began arguing about the ashes as a man she knows as Cameron Morris Whitworth, 31, of Stoney Point Road in Houston, entered the room with his girlfriend. She said that Mr. Whitworth hit her in the back of the head with a pistol and his girlfriend punched her in the face. The victim says that during this attack, Mr. Whitworth stuck the barrel of a rifle in her mouth and asked “are you ready to die?”.
The victim said that as this was going on, they took her phone and 2 rings ($300). The 3 people then made her get into Ms. Burciaga’s silver Nissan Altima. The plan was to go look for the ashes and if the ashes were not found, the victim was told that she “…would be leaving the house in a box…”.
During the road trip, they pulled into a gas station. While at the gas station, Mr. Whitworth got into an altercation with someone at the gas station. At that point, the victim was told that she was let go for now, but better have the ashes later today. She was then dropped off on Arbor Street and given her phone. She was not given back her jewelry.
The victim had never met Mr. Whitworth’s girlfriend prior to this incident. However, she was able to show detectives the woman’s Facebook Page for identification.
Later that day, the victim gave detectives a copy of a text message that Ms. Burciaga sent after the kidnapping episode. The message said “Bitch, if you think getting pistol whipped and getting the barrel of a gun shoved down your throat by the 4 of us last night [ [?] ] wait and see what we do next. And I promise you this much, if I find out you snitched and talk to the police about anything that happened last night, u will be the next box of ashes someone is looking for.
Detectives checked Ms. Burciaga’s and Mr. Whitworth’s pertinents through the police computer. The check revealed that both suspects were currently on parole. Arrest warrants were obtained, information was developed as to the whereabouts of Parolee Burciaga and that information was passed onto the HSPD SWAT Commander.
On September 23, 2021, around 5PM, the HSPD SWAT Team was activated and deployed in the area of 3205 Marion Anderson Road. Parolee Burciaga was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.
Information was later developed as to the whereabouts of Parolee Whitworth. That information was passed onto the SWAT Team Commander. On September 24, 2021, around 9PM, the HSPD SWAT Team was activated and deployed to the area of 231 Cooper Street. Parolee Whitworth was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.
Both parolees are charged with Felony Kidnapping, Felony Aggravated Assault, Felony Aggravated Robbery, Battery and Theft and are currently being held without bond. A note on Mr. Whitworth’s booking card indicates that he has been sentenced to incarceration at the Arkansas Department of Correction.
Mr. Whitworth’s girlfriend was not mentioned again in this arrest report.
