Alleged: Level 2 Convicted Sex Offender Fails To Check-In With HSPD; Felony Arrest – HOT SPRINGS

All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Hot Springs Police Detective Branstetter reports that Convicted Level 2 Sex Offender Jason Dean Odom, 44, of Longtree Street in Hot Springs, came to the Hot Springs Police Department on December 18/2020.  He completed his mandatory sex offender check-in and paperwork process.

Convicted Level 2 Sex Offender Jason Dean Odom, 44, of Longtree Street in Hot Springs – Allegedly failed to report on time as required by state law.

Part of the process was an agreement to return to the PD no later than March, 3, 2021 for the next mandatory check-in.

As of April 8, 2021, Mr. Odom has not returned to check-in and verify his info.

Det. Branstetter determined that Mr. Odom was 26 days overdue for the scheduled check-in.

Det. Branstetter obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Odom and entered it into the police computer.

On April 15, 2021, Mr. Odom came to the Hot Springs Police Department.  He was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.  He is charged with Felony Failure To Comply With Registration And Reporting Requirements with bond set at $3,500
