All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police Corporal Z. Brown reports that he was dispatched to Bayshore Cove On April 13, 2021, around 10PM, for the call of a disturbance.
Off. Brown arrived and met with the complainant. She said that their son, Carter Chet Crossett, 46, of Bayshore Cove in Hot Springs, got high on meth and began acting erratically. She said that he entered the victim’s (81 year old father) bedroom, got the shotgun and began waving it around.
No one knew the suspect’s intentions with the gun, but he was not pointing it at anyone. The victim became concerned for his family’s safety and tried to take the shotgun from the victim. He chased the suspect around the kitchen island, grabbed the gun and took it from the suspect.
The suspect ran to the closet and attempted to grab another gun, but the victim followed him and prevented that. During this move, the suspect grabbed the victim forcefully by the arm, causing a laceration which bled significantly.
Officers saw the shotgun on the bed and a live shotgun shell in the living room floor.
Mr. Crossett was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with Felony Domestic Battery and was initially being held without bond.
