All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police Officer Stockwell reports that he was on patrol in the area of 200 West Grand Avenue April 13, 2021, around 11PM, when he found a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe being operated on public streets with an obscured license plate. The license plate number was checked through the police computer. The check revealed that the Tahoe had been reported stolen out of Hot Springs. Back up units arrived, turned on the blue lights and a felony traffic stop was conducted on the Tahoe.
The driver, James Michael Bailey, 33, of Kelsie Lane in Garland County, and passenger Hayleigh Marie Hathcock, 20, of Kelsie Lane in Garland County, were arrested and the vehicle was searched.
Their pertinents were checked through the police computer. The check revealed that Ms. Hathcock was wanted by the court for Failure To Appear x3.
During the search of the stolen Tahoe officers found: approximately 59 grams of meth in a clear plastic bag, several used syringes, 1 syringe loaded with a clear liquid, 10 Clonazepam pills, 1 Hydrocodone pill, 4.8 grams of marijuana, 1.3 grams of marijuana wax, 1 scale, several small clear plastic bags, 1 meth pipe, 1 marijuana pipe and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency.
Mr. Bailey and Ms. Hathcock were transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.
Mr. Bailey is charged with Felony Unauthorized Use Of Another Person’s Property To Commit A Crime, Felony Possession Of Meth With Intent To Deliver, Felony Theft By Receiving, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia x2, Possession Of A Controlled Substance With Intent To Deliver, Possession Of A Controlled Substance and Possession Of A Controlled Substance with bond set at $33,000.
Ms. Hathcock is charged with Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia x2, Possession Of Meth With Intent to Deliver, Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance x3 and Felony Unauthorized Use Of Another Person’s Property To Commit A Crime with bond set at $65,000 and the 3 Failure To Appear warrants were served.
