ALLEGED: Armed Parolee Driving Wrong Way With No Headlights; Felony Arrest – HOT SPRINGS

All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Hot Springs Police Officer Howerton reports that she was on patrol in the area of West Grand Avenue near Summer Street around 5:45AM on January 24 when she found a 2020 Kia Optima car driving the wrong way on a one way street without headlights.

Ofc. Howerton stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Adam Ray Belcher, 32, of South Brody Street in Redfield.  Ofc. Howerton ran Mr. Belcher’s pertinents through the police computer and found that he was a parolee with a suspended driver’s license and a search waiver on file.  The car was searched.

Two other parolees were in the vehicle.  The parolee in the back seat had a BB gun.

Officers searched the trunk and found a fully loaded (14 rounds) and chambered Smith & Wesson SD9 pistol behind behind a panel.  Everybody was read their Miranda rights.  Parolee Belcher claimed the guns.

Parolee Belcher was convicted of Felony Battery in 2005 and Felony Possession Of Firearm By Certain Persons in 2008.  He was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.

He is charged with Driving on Suspended DL, Driving the Wrong Way, Driving Without Headlights and Felony Possession Of Firearm By Certain Persons with a bond amount totaling $5,000.
