Alleged: Aggravated Assault With Shotgun Then Damages Sheriff’s Patrol Unit; Felony Arrest – GARLAND COUNTY

Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy Yarbrough reports that he was dispatched to Delona Lane on May 5, 2021 around 8AM for the call of a disturbance at a residence.

Dep. Yarbrough arrived at the residence and met with the victim.  He located a shotgun that had been busted into 4 pieces along with 3 12 gauge shotgun shells.  The victim explained that her soon to be father-in-law, David Wayne Neighbors, 55, of Delona Lane in Garland County, went to the back bedroom of the home they reside in and retrieved a 12 gauge shotgun.  He pointed it at her and said he was going to shoot her.  Then, departed the residence.

A couple of hours later, another call came into GCSO 911 Dispatch advising that Mr. Neighbors would be found in the 1200 block of East Grand Avenue if deputies could go to that area.  Dep. Yarbrough went to that area and found Mr. Neighbors at the North Border Street Intersection.

He was arrested, but then became aggressive.  He tried to pull away from deputies and pushed off the patrol car, leaving a dent.  The damage to the vehicle was estimated at $800.

Mr. Neighbors was transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.  He is charged with Felony Aggravated Assault on A Family Or Household Member and Criminal Mischief and was initially being held without bond.
