2 Dirt Bike Motorcycles Collide On Hwy. 70E; 2 Men Killed – GARLAND COUNTY

Arkansas State Police Trooper Parker investigated a double fatal, 2 vehicle crash Sunday Morning around 2AM at 4654 Highway 70East in Garland County.

The Arkansas State Police Preliminary Fatal Crash Report says that the Yamaha TTR dirt bike and the Honda CRF dirt bike were traveling East when the 2 bikes came together and struck each other at the front wheels.  Both bikes laid down and both riders were thrown from their motorcycles.

Randall Howell, 33, of Hot Springs, and Tyson Lopeman, 19, of Hot Springs, were killed in the crash.

Morning Star Fire & Rescue Troops arrived quickly.  They blocked lanes, took charge of traffic control and otherwise assisted as needed.

LifeNet dispatched an Ambulance Crew to the scene.  They assisted as necessary.

Garland County Coroner Stuart Smedley responded and pronounced both men deceased at the scene.

Traffic flow was interrupted for approximately 2 hours.
