On December 4 around 9:05pm, Officer McAdoo of the Hot Springs Police Department saw a maroon van driving without headlights around the 800 Block of Albert Pike Road. The driver had an active warrant, didn’t have a driver’s license, and was in possession of a controlled substance.

McAdoo made a traffic stop on the van at the intersection of Albert Pike Road and Richard Street. The driver, Kaleb Jones, 19, of Little Bit Trail in Hot Springs, did not have his driver’s license.

Dispatch advised over the radio that Jones had an active warrant for failure to appear through the Hot Springs Police Department.

McAdoo arrested Jones. Jones resisted and tried to flee. Jones was assisted to the ground and handcuffed.

McAdoo found a bag of 1.3 grams of methamphetamine in Jones’ left front pants pocket.

Jones is charged with driving on a suspended license, driving without lights, resisting arrest, and possession of methamphetamine less than 2 grams.

Jones entered a plea of not guilty on December 6 and was bonded at $1,500.
