All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police Officer Davis was patrolling the area of Malvern Avenue and East Grand Avenue around 9PM on 10/12/19 when he saw a truck matching the description of one that was reported stolen to the HSPD.
The truck’s registration information was entered into the police computer and verified that the truck was reported stolen. Off. Davis made a traffic stop in the 300 block of Potter Street and placed both the driver, Jerome Hunter, 55, of Dexter Street in Hot Springs, and the passenger, Schyler Norman, 36, homeless in Hot Springs, in handcuffs.
Parolee Hunter was searched by officers and allegedly found with a green digital scale, a glass pipe with burn marks, and a holster on his right hip. The police computer confirmed that Hunter is a convicted felon. He has several felony convictions, including Felony Possession Of Meth Or Cocaine With Purpose To Deliver on 07/01/2016.
A clear baggie with 3 smaller baggies that contained 4.2 grams of meth and 4 pills were allegedly found in the driver side floorboard. A loaded Taurus G2C 9mm was also allegedly located behind the passenger seat.
Parolee Hunter and Norman were both arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.
Parolee Hunter is charged with Felony Simultaneous Possession Of Drugs And Firearms, Felony Possession Of Firearms By Certain Persons, Felony Possession Of Meth With Purpose To Deliver, Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, and Felony Theft By Receiving, with a bond amount totaling $50,000, and a parole hold was placed with no bond available.
Norman is charged with Felony Simultaneous Possession Of Drugs And Firearms (zero bond), Felony Possession Of Meth With Purpose To Deliver, with a bond amount totaling $5,000. She was also served with a Failure To Appear warrant and was being held on that charge with no bond available.
