All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
The Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol and LifeNet Medics were dispatched to a residence on Trace Court Saturday Afternoon for the call of a stabbing that had just taken place at that location.
GCSO Deputies responded to the residence and the LifeNet Ambulance staged in the area of the Fairwood Subdivision Basketball Court until the scene was safe to enter.
Deputies found the 70 year old victim and transported him down to the ambulance for treatment. The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital. The extent of the injury is unknown to me.
Deputies set a security perimeter on the residence. They believed that the suspect may have still been inside the house. Extra units and GCSO assets including negotiators, CID Investigators, K-9 Teams and command staff were called to the scene.
A search warrant was obtained for the residence and it was promptly served. The suspect was not inside the house. A K-9 track was started. It went through he woods and wound up in the area of Frona Lane where the track ended. K-9 tracks usually end like that if the suspect gets into a vehicle and departs the area.
The search was called off. Later that night, witness information putting the suspect in the area of Fairwood Circle was followed up on with negative results.
From what I understand, the suspect, Tony Tedford, 50, of parts unknown, turned himself into law enforcement at a local retail location Sunday Morning peacefully with the help of his pastor.
Mr. Tedford is charged with Felony Domestic Battery 1st Degree and Theft Of Property with a combined total of $3,500 with a no bond hold in place.
