The IRS just announced the first day of Tax Season 2020. Details here
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
On 6/21/2016, Garland County Sheriff’s Deputy Strickland made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3000 Block of Airport Road for speeding.
Deputy Strickland made contact with the driver and immediately noticed an extremely strong odor of cologne coming from the vehicle. Dep. Strickland asked the driver, identified as Sonny Singh, 24, of Hot Springs, if there was anything in the car that he needed to know about. Mr. Singh then allegedly opened a compartment by the stereo and pulled out a half burned marijuana roach. At that point in time, Mr. Singh was detained.
A thorough search of the vehicle was performed and Dep. Strickland located a set of digital scales, approximately 4.6 ounces of marijuana, $10,742.00 in cash, and a check for $850.00 with an open “pay to” on it.
Drug Task Force Investigator Lieutenant Martin was notified of the situation. Lt. Martin responded and assumed the investigation. All of the items were seized by the 18th East Drug Task Force.
Mr. Singh was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center.
He is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Mr. Singh has since either been released or bonded out of jail.
