Evidence at the scene showed that the grey Dodge Charger failed to yield while attempting a left turn onto the highway.  The Dodge Charger pulled directly into the path of the Eastbound Maroon GMC Traverse.  The front of the GMC made contact with the driver’s side of the Dodge. Both vehicles came to final rest blocking traffic lanes near the area of impact.

70 West Fire & Rescue Troops arrived quickly. They took charge of traffic control and assisted with patient care and clean-up duties.

LifeNet dispatched at least two ambulances to the scene. Five injuries were reported and at least two of the injured people were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Traffic flow was interrupted for approximately 45 minutes.
