Piney Fire Troops were immediately dispatched to a residence on Breezy Trail in Crystal Springs over the weekend after Garland County Dispatchers reportedly learned that a person was allegedly attempting to set fire to the residence.
Piney Fire Troops began arriving just as the fire began to spread at the residence. Piney Fire Boss Lieutenant Miser ordered several of his own trucks and several of his firefighters to continue to the scene to help. After it was discovered that a second, adjacent structure was also on fire, Lt. Miser ordered out back-up from 70 West Fire Department.
At least 1 of the houses was gutted by fire.
Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Sergeant Kellar and his associates arrived and met with the people that were allegedly arguing when the fire started. The outcome of that meeting is unknown to me.
LifeNet dispatched an Ambulance Crew and the EMS Supervisor to the scene. They met with at least 1 person at the scene, but, to the best of my knowledge, did not transport anyone to the hospital.
Traffic flow was interrupted for at least 2 hours.
