Story/Pics by Rosie Ward

Piney Fire Troops were dispatched to the call of a structure fire on Disney Street yesterday afternoon.

Piney Fire Lieutenant says that his firefighters rolled up to an unoccupied shed that was already fully involved with flames.  He says that a pick-up truck, several motorcycles and a golf cart were lost in the fire.

PFD was able to save a jeep and another small storage structure from the fire.

No one knows how the fire started, but it was noted that a pet ferret was being housed in the shed.  An electric heater was in place to keep the ferret warm.  This heater was the only power going to the shed.

No injuries were reported in connection to this fire.  However, the ferret did not survive the fire.

Also, during the fire fighting effort, a woman arrived on scene and had to be dealt with by the Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol.  The disposition of that encounter is not known to me.
