Hot Springs Fire Troops were dispatched to the call for a house fire in the 500 Block of East Grand Avenue last weekend.
HSFD and Hot Springs Police arrived quickly to find the building already fully involved. Flames would eventually shoot from the roof to a height of at least 20 feet. The water cannon on the ladder truck was raised into the air and used to flood the structure.
HSPD Officers blocked and rerouted traffic due to the fire trucks being parked in the street and charged hoses on the pavement.
A witness at the scene told me that the building had been boarded up for awhile. A second, unverified witness said that the house has been vacant for 14 years.
It is unknown to me how the fire started.
No injuries were reported during this event as far as I know.
