Hot Springs Police Officer Murray reports that he responded to the area of the Starlite Club on December 21 around 12:30 am in reference to shots fired.

A Starlite Club Security Employee said that a male in a white truck fired three shots and departed the area. The suspect soon drove past the scene while police were still talking to the employee.

A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. Ofc. Murray arrested the driver, Evan Johnson, 21, of Gerrard Terrace in Garland County, and immediately smelled marijuana on him.

HSPD Officers found a small glass pipe on Johnson and a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun in the vehicle.

Ofc. Murray went back to the Starlite Club to gather more information. A witness said the shooter was wearing red pants, a white long sleeve shirt, and had a man-bun. The description was an exact match for Johnson.

HSPD Officers searched the area around the club and found two .40 caliber shell casings.

Johnson was transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with Discharging A Firearm In City Limits and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. His bond was set at $1,250.
