Shoplifting With Meth Pipes In Her Purse – HOT SPRINGS

Hot Springs Police Officer Steed was notified by Belk’s Loss Prevention Staff yesterday afternoon that they had a female suspect detained in the Loss Prevention Office.

The suspect, identified as Latoyia Hughes, 35 of Hot Springs, had allegedly concealed clothing items in her purse and proceeded to try and exit the store. The merchandise was valued at $302.

Ofc. Steed searched Ms. Hughes as part of the arrest process.  She allegedly located three glass pipes containing a white residue in her purse. Hughes was placed in custody and transported to Garland County Detention Center. During the booking process, Hughes allegedly  randomly stated that she does “occasionally use meth”.
