Garland County Sheriff’s K-9 Sergeant Kellar and Aton were on patrol in the area of Thornton Ferry Road when they noticed a vehicle allegedly driving around with no headlights just before midnight last night.
A stop of the vehicle was conducted in the Shell Station Parking Lot at Piney Junction.
Parolee Crystal Lyn Bearden, 39 of Garland County was allegedly driving the vehicle. This parolee’s info was run through the police computer and she was allegedly found to have a search waiver on file as part of her parole agreement with the state.
Sgt. Kellar put K-9 Aton on the vehicle. Aton made a pass around the car and told Sgt. Kellar that dope was in the car. Sgt. Kellar believed him. A search of the car was conducted. I watched deputies pull several syringes, a digital scale, tiny baggies and other bags that appeared to contain a white, powdery substance. A significant amount of “ice” meth was also allegedly found in this car.
