Hot Springs Police Officer Murray was dispatched to the 3300 Block of Central Avenue at 11PM Monday to investigate the report of a suspicious person allegedly trying to open doors on a building in that area.

Joel Buck, 39 of Hot Springs – charged for possession of meth

Off.  Murray located the suspect, later identified as Joel Buck, 39 who lists an address of “city streets”, walking down the sidewalk.  The report says that Off. Murray beeped his siren at the suspect, but the suspect ignored the noise and continued to walk.  Off. Murray doubled down by turning the siren all the way on, pulling in front of the suspect and ordered him to stop.  Mr. Buck reacted to that display by fleeing on foot.  Mr. Buck was quickly chased down and handcuffed.

Mr. Buck cooperated and allegedly stated that he had a small bag of drugs inside his cigarette package.    The baggie was located and the approximate .2 grams of the white crystal substance inside field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Mr. Buck was arrested and charged with Misdemeanor Fleeing and Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance.  He was transported to the Garland County Detention Center where he was booked in with a bond totaling $3,000.  But he was held on a no bond Failure To Appear Warrant that was discovered during the booking process.
