Evidence at the scene showed that the red Ford truck suddenly swerved wildly across the center line, lost control, exited the left side of the pavement in a yaw, traveled down an embankment, tripped at the edge of the dry creek bed, overturned, landed in the middle of the creek bed, bounced up the embankment on the other side and came to final rest feet up and facing east.

Witnesses at the scene say that the trouble began when a deer jumped out into the path of the truck and the driver took evasive action in the 55 Mph zone.

Mountain Pine Fire Troops including Chief Wilson were very quick to arrive at the scene.  They took charge of traffic control, assisted with patient care and clean-up duties.

Traffic flow was interrupted for approximately 1 hour.
