Public Release: Wanted Fugitive Shoots At Police; Suspect Killed By ASP SWAT – RUSSELLVILLE

Public Release – RUSSELLVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

On June 28, 2018 at 6:45pm, Russellville Police officers responded to the 600 block of West K Street in reference to a person who had shot at bail bondsmen that were attempting to apprehend the suspect on felony warrants. When officers arrived on scene, the suspect fired additional shot from inside of the apartment where he had barricaded himself.

Russellville Police established a perimeter around the apartment complex and began negotiating with the suspect. The surrounding apartment complexes in the immediate area were evacuated, while assistance was requested from the Arkansas State Police Tactical Unit.

At approximately 2:15am, the suspect exited the apartment and began firing at officers, who then engaged the suspect. The suspect, who was a white male, age 37, died at the scene.
