Shooting Arrest

Initial Public Release 11/17/2020

On Monday, November 16, 2020, at 308 PM, officers of the Hot Springs Village Police Department responded to a shooting at a local townhouse unit.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a single victim at the scene suffering from multiple gunshots. The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The victim’s condition is not currently known.

A person of interest was apprehended a short time afterwards without incident and later remanded to the Garland County Detention Center on a charge of Battery 1st.

Due to the nature of the incident, a request for assistance was made to the Garland County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division. A joint investigation involving the HSVPD and the Garland County Sheriff’s Department is currently underway. The HSVPD greatly appreciates the Garland County Sheriff’s Department’s assistance in this investigation.

There is no reason to believe that the public is in danger.


Public Release UPDATE: 11/20/2020 – HSVPD

Just a brief update to the press release of November 17th, 2020 regarding the shooting in HSV. As of this time, ,the victim remains hospitalized and the suspect remains in the custody of the Garland County Detention Center.
The investigation into the incident continues.  I would like commend Sgt. Nickles, Ofc. Bernard, Ofc. Musler and Ofc. Hood who conducted themselves in a competent and professional manner at the scene.
