All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Witnesses have told me that the white car in the pics was allegedly driven up into the woods by the suspect after the shooting and is part of this investigation.
The suspect in this episode was found guilty of violating a no contact order on July 29, 2018 and sentenced to 1 year in jail with 363 days of the sentence suspended and credit for 2 days served and was placed on 6 months supervised probation.
This suspect is a convicted felon with a violent history. He has also previously been charged with: Felony Battery, Possession Of Firearms By Certain Persons, Felony Domestic Battery, Misdemeanor Domestic Battery, Burglary and Theft.
He was convicted of Felony Battery and Possession Of A Firearm By Certain Persons in February 2016 and sentenced to 36 months in prison. Somehow, he is not in prison right now. Like so many of our parolees/probationers around here, he is involved in another major crime. The shooting at the Valero Grand Avenue at Central Avenue 4 days ago; the suspect in that shooting (Christopher Deshawn Stewart) was just sentenced in May 2018 to 36 months probation on a dope charge in Pulaski County.
The parolees/probationers seem to be having trouble following the terms of their early release and a lot of citizens are suffering because of it. The police are doing their job; they arrest these re-offenders every chance they get. The police are not the root of this problem.
