Press Release: Murder Arrest Stemming From The Higdon Ferry Shooting/Car Crash Last Week – HOT SPRINGS

Press Release – HOT SPRINGS POLICE DEPARTMENT (Corporal Kirk Zaner)

On 04/06/2017, Hot Springs Police responded to the 300 block Garens Street in reference a shooting.

Officer’s located Charles David Hill, age 32 of Hot Springs lying on Garens Street. Mr. Hill suffered from a single gunshot wound to his abdomen. Mr. Hill was transported by LifeNet to St. Vincent hospital in Hot Springs, where he later died.

Hot Springs Police were later notified a subject with a gunshot wound had arrived at Baptist Medical Center in Malvern, Arkansas. Detectives with Hot Springs Police went to Baptist Medical Center and contacted Demetrius Perry, age 20, of Hot Springs. Mr. Perry was being treated at Baptist Medical Center for a gunshot wound to his right arm.

Demetrius Tyrell Perry, 20 of Hot Springs – Charged With Murder For The Shooting Death Of Charles Hill.

During the investigation, it was learned Demetrius Perry and Charles Hill had been involved in an altercation, when Mr. Perry fired a handgun. The shot struck Perry in his own right arm, exiting his arm and striking Hill in his abdomen.

On 04/11/2017, Demetrius Perry was arrested for Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A felony. Mr. Perry was booked into the Garland County Detention Center and is being held on no bond.
