Arrest Following Gunfire At Timbercrest Mobile Home Park
On 7/9/18 at 7:24pm Officers responded to 3921 Central Ave, in reference to a known person that was threatening neighbors at Timbercrest Mobile Home Park. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect John David Barron (57) of Hot Springs. Barron became disorderly with officers and then went back to his residence. Barron then came back out of his house, armed with a rifle and pistol.
Barron made several threats to shoot officers and continued to enter and exit his house during this time. The SWAT team and Crisis Negotiators were deployed at this time. At one point Barron fired several shots from inside the house. Barron again walked outside the house towards officers, SWAT then fired a less then lethal round that struck Barron. The K9 was also deployed, after a brief struggle, Barron was taken into custody without incident.
Barron was treated and released from a local hospital for minor injuries and is currently being held at the Garland County Detention Center on the charge of Terroristic Threatening with a $100,000.00 bond.
