All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police were dispatched to Illinois Street around noon today for the call of a battery. A lady was supposed to be walking around bleeding. HSPD Officers and a LifeNet Ambulance responded to that victim.
HSPD Dispatchers put out the description of the alleged suspect vehicle and arriving officers were scanning traffic to try and locate that vehicle as they were en route to the victim.
Not long after the call went out for this battery, Sgt. L. Zaner was passing the intersection of Grand Avenue and Central Avenue when she located the black GMC Acadia suspect vehicle. She followed the vehicle South on Central Avenue to Hobson Avenue where the suspect turned West towards Jones School. Sgt. Zaner held off on stopping the Acadia while her back up units kept getting closer.
Back up units found her on South Street and a felony traffic stop was initiated at the 5th Street Intersection. The Acadia pulled over and the alleged suspect appeared to cooperate with the police. He was arrested and HSPD Detectives arrived and assumed the case.
The following Press Release explains more about this felony traffic stop.
