Aggravated Assault, Manhunt Suspect Arrested

On Tuesday 11/27/2018 Garland County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Josh Cannon assigned to the Special Operations Unit followed up on confidential information about a person of interest from the Centennial Drive incident on 11/26/2018. 

Aggravated Assault, fleeing suspect Derek Hendry, 31, of Hot Springs Village has been captured after a day on the run.

Sgt. Cannon was able to ascertain the vehicle that the suspect was in and his whereabouts, assisted by the patrol division, a traffic stop was conducted in the 1500 block of Albert Pike at approximately 1000 hours and 31 year old Derek Hendry of Hot Springs Village was taken into custody. 

Mr. Hendry was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Class D Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance Methamphetamine Class D Felony, and more charges are pending related to the alleged incident from yesterday on Centennial Drive.  Mr. Hendry is currently being held at the Garland County Detention Center.
