Piney FD Saves House Following Disturbance – GARLAND COUNTY

Last weekend, Piney Fire Troops responded to the 100 Block of Oakridge Road for the call of  a structure fire.

Fire Troops arrived to find that the area around the structure on fire and the house was starting to catch on fire.

The Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol arrived and assisted as necessary.  According to a witness at the scene, this fire began either during or immediately following a disturbance at this location.

 

The house was not occupied at the time the fire began.

During the course of this investigation, GCSO deputies located a person at the scene that was allegedly intoxicated.  Steven Neil Thomas was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication.

Piney Fire Troops extinguished the fire before it destroyed the home.  Chainsaws were used to remove portions of the floor inside the home in order to extinguish the fire.

No one was injured in connection to this fire.

Traffic flow in this area was interrupted for appx. 45 minutes.
