Piney Fire Chief Scott Miser and his Rescue Troops ran out to Mountain Pine Road at H.L. Circle last night around 6PM for the call of a jack-knifed 18-wheeler blocking all but 1 lane of traffic on this snow covered highway.

PFD troops used a huge, military surplus tanker truck and a tow strap to unstick the jack-knifed rig that had become impossibly stuck in at the road side.  Once hooked up, it took about 1 minute to free and pull the 18-wheeler across the highway, unhook and then get him on his way.

Arkansas State Police assisted with the evolution.

Traffic flow was interrupted on Mountain Pine Road for approximately 35 minutes.
