Parolee Allegedly Found With Heroine In Syringe During Traffic Stop; Felony Arrest – HOT SPRINGS

Hot Springs Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on Central Avenue at the Golf Links Road Intersection on 5/22/19 around 8:20PM on a 2009 Hyundai Sonata.  Parolee Corey Russell Hewitt, 40, of Seventh Street in Hot Springs, was allegedly found to be driving on a suspended license.

Officers were notified by dispatch that Parolee Hewitt had a search waiver on file. Since Parolee Hewitt was allegedly watching officers, and because the vehicle allegedly belonged to another person and had been previously flagged for drug use, the vehicle was searched.

Officers allegedly located a prescription pill bottle with white pills in the glove box, a used syringe with heroine residue in the driver door, an unused syringe behind the driver seat, and a pink straw with unknown white residue in a purse in the backseat.

Parolee Hewitt was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with 2 counts of Felony Drug Paraphernalia with a bond amount totaling $5,000.
