On Monday 07/04/2016 at approximately 12:00 P.M. Marine Patrol Cpl. Ron Stone was on patrol on Lake Hamilton when he received a call of an accident at Kahuna Bay Marina. Upon arrival he located a party barge with a white female entangled in the prop who was unable to free herself and was struggling to stay afloat.

Cpl. Stone took control of the situation and had all the party barge occupants’ move to the front of the barge in order to help raise the stern, which in turn helped keep the victim’s head above water. He then utilized the help of a barge occupant to go in the water and instructed him to use his knife to cut away the bathing suit that was caught in the prop. Once the victim was free she was safely transported to shore and taken by LifeNet to an area hospital, and is expected to make a full recovery thanks to the actions of Cpl. Stone and those who assisted him.
