Hot Springs Police Officer Davis responded to Madison Street on December 13 around 11:53 pm, in reference to a disturbance involving a firearm.
Two female victims and the suspect, Shawn Johnson Jr., 22, of Madison Street in Hot Springs, were at the residence. One of the victims stated that all three of them live there.
One of the victims, Johnson’s ex-girlfriend, stated that around 11:40 pm she and Johnson got in an argument over a breakup. Johnson got upset and pulled out a firearm and asked the two victims to leave.
The two of them did not leave the residence and Johnson fired a single round into the floor. The other victim attempted to take down Johnson and get the gun.
The victim who tried to take the gun away stated that during the struggle Johnson raised the gun up and fired another round.
The ex managed to take the firearm away and knock Johnson unconscious while the other victim was on top of him.
The two were then able to leave the residence and call the police.
Johnson was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with Felony Aggravated Assault and his bond was set at $2,500. A no contact order was issued between him and the two victims.
