Man Charged with Fourth Degree Sexual Assault – Hot Springs

On November 13 Johnathon Mathis, 27, of Oakgrove Road in Garland County was arrested for fourth degree sexual assault for sexual activities in 2017.

The Arkansas State Child Abuse Hotline was contacted in reference to a 15-year-old female juvenile being pregnant by her 25-year-old boyfriend. The Hot Springs Police Department was made aware of the offense on Nov. 17, 2018.

On Dec. 4, 2018, Detective Scott of the Hot Springs Police Department met with Mathis at the police department about the investigation. Mathis admitted to having sex with his 15-year-old girlfriend on his birthday in 2017.

Mathis was arrested with a $2,500 bond and his court date is scheduled for Dec. 10.
