Morning Star Fire & Rescue Troops responded to the call of an injury house fire in the 3000 Block of Spring Street Saturday Night.

The house was fully involved with fire when MSFD and Lake Hamilton Fire Troops (dispatched automatically with MSFD to structure fires) arrived.

Rescuers arrived to find an injured adult male at the rear of the house.  They assisted him to the ambulance.  LifeNet dispatched at least 2 ambulance crews and the EMS Supervisor to the scene.  The injured man was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Firefighters were able to tap into a nearby fire hydrant in order to pump water to the trucks on scene.

MSFD Chief Nathan Kew said in a phone interview that the residence is a total loss.  His initial investigation did not determine the cause of the fire.  However he did say that he believes that the fire began in or near the living room before spreading throughout the structure, venting through the windows and attic.  Then, ultimately tearing through the roof.  He said that his investigation into what started the fire is ongoing.

Traffic flow was interrupted for approximately 3 1/2 hours.
