Injury Crash; Car Vs. Utility Pole..Whittington Ave/Roanoke Street – HOT SPRINGS

Hot Springs Police Corporal Langley investigated a single vehicle injury crash last night on Whittington Avenue where a car slammed into a utility pole, breaking it into 2 pieces and brought live power wires down onto the ground.

Evidence at the scene showed that the eastbound car lost control in a curve, rotated sideways, hopped the curb and struck the utility pole with the passenger’s side.  Airbags deployed as a result of impact,

Hot Springs Fire & Rescue Troops responded quickly and assisted as needed.

LifeNet dispatched an Ambulance Crew to the scene.  The driver was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Entergy was contacted and hurried out to the scene to repair the utility damage.

Ernie’s Wrecker Service took charge of the wrecked vehicle and removed it from the scene.

The traffic flow was interrupted for at least 2 hours.
